Aviano (Friulian: Davian; Cimbrian: Pleif) is a town and comune (municipality) in the Regional decentralization entity of Pordenone at the foot of the Dolomites mountain range in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northeast Italy. Aviano is home to the C.R.O. (Centro di Riferimento Oncologico), one of the main Italian cancer hospitals and research centres[1]. The Piancavallo ski resort is part of the municipality.
