Candela ( Cannéla in local dialect ) is an Italian town of 2,699 inhabitants in the province of Foggia in Puglia.
The built-up area stands on two hills called San Rocco and San Tommaso, part of the orographic system of the southern Dauno Subappennine. In the municipal area, between the Carapelle and Ofanto rivers, the Pescasseroli-Candela sheep track ended, the ancient grassy road of transhumance 211 km long.
The climate is characterized by rather marked thermal excursions. Precipitation is somewhat scarce.

- September 8, 1902: Candela massacre, the carabinieri shoot at the demonstrators (workers of the land, artisans) killing 8 people and injuring 20 others.
- August 16-18: feast of San Rocco, with religious celebrations and musical events
- May 16-17-18: 32nd Rally Puglia & Lucania, car race valid for the Central European Championship and for the Italian Rally Terra and Cross Country Rally Championships.
Economy
In Palino, north of the Calaggio torrent, there are numerous wells equipped for the extraction of fossil hydrocarbons.
Infrastructure and transport
Candela has a toll booth on the A16 Napoli-Canosa motorway, which ensures connections between Puglia and Campania, and a railway station on the Foggia-Potenza line.
